In the 2013 X Games in Barcelona, Bob became the first skater ever with a 4-peat gold in Skateboard Big Air (2011-2012 Los Angeles and 2013 Foz do Iguaçu, 2013 Barcelona). In the 2013 X Games in Munich, Burnquist became the competitor with the most X Games medals ever at 25 medals as he earned another gold medal in Skateboard Big Air also making it a 5-peat record. He has appeared in every X Games, winning 26 medals in 52 events.

Bob Burnquist is also famous for the backyard of his house where he has personal skatepark complete with a Vert Bowl Halfpipe, Cork Screw, Loop and Mega Ramp. Some of the biggest names in skateboarding are known to skate Bob’s backyard and it has been featured in many skate videos and magazines.

Bob is constantly creating new vert tricks by pushing to be more creative and technical. Not to be satisfied with skating a simple halfpipe, he is known for some of the biggest, craziest skate stunts ever involving helicopters or such as attempting a 50-50 grind into the Grand Canyon. On his first try Bob nearly died as he missed the rail, falling until gained enough control to deploy his parachute. He “landed” his second try without any problems! This stunt was aired on an episode of the TV show “Stunt Junkies”.

In addition to TV, Bob has also been featured in several video games, magazines and made a brief appearance in the movie “Grind”.
